Things you should know before reading this. A. Contrary to the name, this is not a religious piece. B. I didn't hold back.
So this thought process started with stuff. I was frustrated with all the stuff at the house, and how I had visions of just burning it and demo-ing the house. Really gut it out. But who has the time and the money. I sure as fuck don't. And then I started thinking about how I let my work affect my homelife-demeanor-attitude-and I would come home and do nothing. Or have something to do after work. Even less time at home to do the projects that need to be done and all this stuff piling up around me and I would bring more stuff home. A home that has not been emptied of it's contents and overhauled in 24 years. I need to go through and strip every room of everything and just to have trim. I need a giant shovel. Jesus was a nomad. What did Jesus Do with all his stuff? Would Jesus have stuff? Bare minimum Stuff. Would Jesus have carried a Satchel? Would Jesus take the bus? Where would Jesus live? Would Jesus have a home? What would Jesus do? So far we have him pegged to a satchel wearing, bus riding homeless guy. He isn't sick or unhappy. Jesus wouldn't beg for food, he would wait for the Universe to provide. Was Jesus a hippie? Would Jesus walk the Earth or whatever city he was living in at the time. Is Jesus that guy that sits in the weird guy's shoe store or wherever and sing Christian songs? Would Jesus accept money. Where would Jesus take a shit. Now I have offended someone. So, I don't think that Jesus had stuff. So why do we have so much stuff? What is the secret of people with really clean houses? Where do they put there stuff? I mean you have kids and you have keepsakes of when they were younger and then school and the papers all the papers. How do you keep up? Where do you draw the line, what to keep and it starts off as a shoebox and then it evolves and where do you put it all? My high school stuff. Do I Really need it? Distant memories, things that happened so many years ago. What is the point. To take it out every few years and reminisce. Bah! I want to be more nomadic. I want to pare down my stuff to very minimal stuff. My next vacation will be a stay at home and work on the house vacation. Don't you JUdGe ME.
